About Us

A Local Family Run Business

We took a big step forward in 2002 when we purchased the management of Gwithian Sands Chalets together with four of the chalets.
We are always thinking how to enhance the site and chalets, making it a pleasure for holidaymakers to enjoy whilst simultaneously promoting sustainable tourism and environmental awareness.

During the 1990’s, when our three children were quite young, we used to let out our family home in St. Ives to visitors while we enjoyed blissfully simple summers living in a small wooden chalet near the beach at Hayle.

In 2010 we fulfilled a long-term ambition when we built our Eco-house on site, which also acts as the site reception.

Our Environment
And local Wildlife

Being a relatively small site, we are in a fortunate position of being able to apply environmentally sensitive methods of maintenance and management to the site.

We are in partnership with local recycling companies. Since starting a recycling scheme in 2003, we have reduced waste by around 75%.

We are passionate about wildlife conservation. We put up bird and insect boxes as well as undertake dune protection schemes to help local wildlife.

We try to minimise light pollution from our site so glow worms can find their mates! Spot these magical creatures at the start of June to the end of August.

We had a nest of baby blue tits last year which everyone was able to see on the live webcam.

Leaf cutter bees are frequent visitors, cutting up leaves to wrap their eggs in little parcels.
